Alexander Elementary School students with attendance at or above 96 percent
Noon Monday, February 4
Alexander Elementary School PE courts
5602 N. Lois Ave., Tampa
More than 400 Alexander Elementary School students with a 96 percent or better attendance rate during their first semester will gather to watch their principal, Kristina Alvarez, have 10 inches of her hair cut to donate to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. More than 100 students with perfect attendance during their first semester will participate in a raffle that decides which student will cut Ms. Alvarez’ hair. Two students also will cut eight inches of their own hair and donate it to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. Ms. Alvarez did this same attendance challenge five years ago.
Pantene Beautiful Lengths is a partnership between Pantene and the American Cancer Society that turns donated hair into free, real-hair wigs for women with cancer. Pantene has donated 24,000 real-hair wigs to the American Cancer Society’s wig banks, which distribute wigs to cancer patients across the country.
